ABOUT ANDREW MARASKA

 

 

Andrew Maraska is senior at Wakefield School and will be attending the United States Merchant Marine Academy this fall. He is the son of a US Marine and a teacher, currently living in northern Virginia. During his high school career, he switched high schools three times and for his junior year, he was attending the Walworth Barbour American International School in Even Yehuda, Israel.

 

During his time living abroad, his interests pertaining towards international relations truly sparked. While attending WBAIS he traveled to various nations in Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Through his travels and his interactions with people from around the world he became very interested in politics and more specifically how the future was being shaped by current global actors. Being an American, he really found interest in how nations saw the US and through conversations how other nations, specifically China, were taking the West's place as the global leader.
